How do I schedule emails to be delivered at a later date?

I'm designing an event scheduling system and when an event occurs (such as a birthday), the system needs to send out an e-mail to the persons related to that event. This system a web-page connected to a database, so it will not be running at all times. So I need to have something additional that will deliver these e-mails for me at the right time. What is the best software/utility to do such a thing?|||You have to use crontab (under linux/unix) o scheduled tasks (under windows) and call your script at specific time intervals.


If you are in hosting, cPanel and Plesk provides such feature.





If you can't use the above solution, you can try call the scripts every time a user visits your website. This will work correctly if you have almost a visitor every time you need to run the scripts (i.e. once a day or once an hour) but it's not so accurate.|||open Ur outlook and click on new mail---%26gt; and optinons---%26gt; deliver Options----%26gt; in it u have a select box Do not deliver before... select it and the dorpdown box's will enable then set the date and time there.. and that's it............ :)
