I got the letter in the mail today and it says if I'm not able to attend due to traveling for work (I'm going out of town to new hire training the week I'm scheduled for jury duty). I have to write a letter requesting the jury duty be rescheduled.
How would I start a letter off explaining my situation.|||Depends.. is the letter going to the jury clerks office or to a judge?
If it's the jury clerk's office, TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, Dear Sir or Madam, Attn: Jury Office are all acceptable.
If it is to a judge, use that judge's name if you know it: THE HONORABLE (judge's name). If not, Dear Sir or Madam is acceptable as well.
If you aren't sure, call the jury clerks office and ask. NEVER rely on someone else's advice - it could cause you trouble in the future.|||Do you have to write one? In most places you can just call the court clerk and ask for a deferment and they can do it right then.|||TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
